We are now pleased to be able to offer a picture framing service. We have a huge range of wooden, metal and resin frames and a large selection of mounts. We can also provide heatsealing of images. Turn around times are about 10-14 days. Bring your picture and pop in store to have a look at our selection.

January Sale 2012 – Now On

Just to inform you all that our January sale is now on. All items in the sale can be seen in two of our shop windows. Items of particaular interest are a pair of fully lined and interlined one width dress curtains which have been on display in our shop. They’re made out of a gorgeous Jane Churchill embroidered fabric and headed with a hand pinch pleat. We also have a 2.5 seater, bespoke, ex-display sofa in the sale, upholstered using a Baker Lifestyle velvet. This sofa has been hand made in England and is now reduced to £1500.00. There are also lots of ex-display cushions and little gifts. The sale will be on until the end of January, then it’s time to get ready for our spring windows!

Christmas Windows 2011

We’ve finally completed our Christmas windows this year. We decided to make them a little sparkley by using gorgeous fabrics from Voyage Fabrics (a lovely fabric made up of sequins), Linwood Fabrics (a modern velvet with silver writing on) and Wemyss (a glamorous textured velvet). We’ve also used a stunning sheer made by Designers Guild in our white window, and a pretty shimmery, silver sheer by Harlequin in the darker window. The darker window also features a great, festive fabric with stags on by Casamance, which we have turned into reindeer by adding little fluffy red noses.

The white window features the Duchess sofa with it’s elegantly shaped button back, and the dark window features the Drop Arm Knowle with a chrome stud detail on the base. Our little window contains the Joy Chair which has been upholstered using a Designers Guild velvet. All sofas and chairs are built by our wonderful upholsterer in his workshop. They are ALL handmade in England.

In the darker window we have hung an original artwork by a local artist. This beautiful acrylic on canvas can be made in your choice of colours. Just ask us for details.

All windows contain a selection of sparkley mirrors, lights and gifts. We have the ever popular Crystal Ball Chandeliers together with the new Crystal Ball Standard Lamps, a selection of buddahs, elephant statues, candle holders and cushions.

The wallpapers used in these Christmas windows are the striking Lumeo by Sahco, Raindrops by Threads and Komodo and Kikko Trellis by Osborne & Little.

Have a look at this gorgeous chair we recovered recently. Our upholsterer had to build a new back and seat. The fabric used is by GP & J Baker with a flat braid by Wemyss Houles. The chair looks just like new and is almost too nice to sit on!

Focus 2011

We’ve just been down to Focus to have a look at the new Autumn/Winter 2011 designs. Tartan is a big theme this season and is perfect for making your home feel lovely and cozy during the long winter months. Osborne & Little, Zoffany and Harlequin have a selection of gorgeous tartans.

Another popular trend is blue: navy blue, royal blue and a deeper turquoise, often mixed with yellows and lime greens. If you’re a fan of duck egg, don’t worry, because it’s still around and has become almost a neutral in itself.

Jane Churchill has brought out some wonderful, fresh embroidered linens and pretty florals.

Harlequin also has some vibrant florals with it’s new Clarissa Hulse collection

And Sanderson is showing great retro florals

Trellis work as a design is also still prevelant again with Designers Guild and Romo.

The trend for metallics continues with Osborne & Little launching more of their exclusive holographic wallpapers. These have been coordinated with glamorous animal prints and textures. This theme is seen again in Brian Yates who continues to produce luxurious, textured wallpapers in a variety of sumptuous colours.

Lastly we just loved this window display by Pierre Frey!
